Apparel faculty receive grant from the cotton industry
A grant titled, The Impact of Cotton in the Textile and Apparel Industry: Professional Perspectives was received by Dr. Doris H. Kincade and Dr. Jihyun Kim. The $35,000 grant is funded by Cotton Incorporated and the Cotton Board. Through the grant, alumni from the Apparel Program are invited to the Virginia Tech campus, and to share, with students in apparel courses, information about their jobs and the importance of cotton to their companies and products. The Cotton Incorporated Alumni Speaker Series will host six alumni throughout the fall semester. In addition, the grant provides funding for a field trip for selected apparel students to tour the laboratory facilities at Cotton Incorporated headquarters in Cary, NC.
